Bacon Fest Kansas CityBenefiting The Rehabilitation Institute
Jason was appointed as the first ever “Bacon Chair” of Bacon Fest Kansas City, “The Other Fundraiser”. This year’s event was held in the parking lot of Ameristar Casino on an abnormally cool August afternoon. Jason was setup with his smoker in the VIP area interacting with the crowd, giving barbecue demonstrations and serving samples of Bacon Explosion. He also took to the main stage to introduce the bacon eating contest and present trophies to the winners.
Bacon Fest is not only a fun event, it helps one of Kansas City’s most unique non-profit organizations – The Rehabilitation Institute. Founded in 1947, RIKC provides medical rehabilitation and employment placement services for children and adults who have experienced a catastrophic injury or illness or injury resulting in a significant disability. RIKC’s array of services address the most basic activities of daily living including mobility, communication and self care to more complex issues related to driving, living independently, attending school or working.
