Jason’s recipe for the now infamous Bacon Explosion was featured on the front page of the New York Times’ Food & Wine section. The publicity set off a media firestorm that ultimately led to the Bacon Explosion being dubbed “the most downloaded recipe of all time”.
The article went on to become the 2nd most read article in the New York Times that year. The popularity of the recipe also led to it’s inclusion in The Essential New York Times Cookbook in 2010, and The Essential New York Times Grilling Cookbook in 2014, as well as the production of Jason’s cookbook, BBQ Makes Everything Better, which went on to be named “The Best Barbecue Cookbook in the World” at the 2010 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Paris, France.
