Blue Ribbon Bacon FestivalFebruary 20th

Jason and his crew will be returning to Des Moines for the world’s largest bacon festival to serve Bacon Explosion to massive crowds of bacon aficionados. Bacon Explosion has twice been voted “Best Savory Dish” out of all exhibitors featured at the festival.

KCBS Judges TrainingMarch 19th

Burnt Finger BBQ will be preparing their style of barbecue to help certify a new class of competition barbecue judges. The team will be preparing all four categories in a simulated contest environment, including full turn-in boxes.

Cooking Class - Backyard BBQApril 23rd

A Thyme For Everything in Downtown Lee’s Summit will host Jason as he teaches a class of how to prepare mouthwatering barbecue on standard backyard grills, both charcoal and gas. Discussion topics will cover equipment choice/variance, meat selection, fire building, smoke application, temperature control, foil wrapping, doneness monitoring and more. Class will also include live fire smoking demonstrations of country-style ribs, chicken wings/legs, smoked sausage, and Jason’s famous Bacon Explosion.

Smoke 'n Fire DemoMay 28th

Jason will be in the Smoke ‘n Fire demo kitchen to talk barbecue and sample Burnt Finger BBQ’s line of Smokey Kansas City sauces and seasonings.

Be Made DemoJune 10th

Burnt Finger BBQ will be at Be Made in Hays, KS to host a barbecue happy hour with the patrons of their store from 3:30-5:30. We’ll be talking barbecue, serving Bacon Explosion sliders, and sampling Burnt Finger BBQ’s line of Smokey Kansas City sauces and seasonings.

A Thyme For Everything in Downtown Lee’s Summit will host Jason as he presents a detailed walk-through of how to produce the perfect barbecue brisket.

Cabo Wabo CookoutJune 24th-25th

Jason will be appearing in the Cabo Wabo event space at the Great Lenexa Barbecue Battle. He will be conducting barbecue demonstrations and providing samples of Cabo Wabo themed barbecue recipes all the while entertaining guests while they enjoy the Cabo Wabo experience.

Pork & Ribs ClassSeptember 3rd

Kick off Labor Day weekend with a pork and ribs class from expert pitmaster Jason Day of Burnt Finger BBQ. We’ll cover all the juicy details of how to take a boston butt pork roast and turn it into mouth watering pulled pork. Attendees will be treated to Carolina-style pulled pork sandwiches topped with coleslaw alongside vinegar and mustard style barbecue sauces. We’ll then turn our attention to preparing the most tender and juicy pork ribs you’ve ever experienced. You’ll learn the differences between spare ribs, St. Louis spare ribs, and baby back ribs, and how to specifically prepare each cut. We’ll round out the day by sharing several of our favorites “next day” recipes to help you use up all those BBQ leftovers: pulled pork chile verde and the foot long rib-wich.
