In anticipation of the Chiefs' third consecutive trip to the Super Bowl, I was welcomed back to the TODAY Show to represent Kansas City and showcase some barbecue themed recipes for the big game.

Even without firing up the grill, these barbecue chicken drumsticks deliver the ultimate fall-off-the-bone experience, packed with that Smokey KC saucy goodness.  Whether you’re prepping for a game day feast, family dinner, or easy meal prep, this effortless recipe delivers big, bold BBQ taste with minimal effort.

Grab your slow cooker, your favorite Burnt Finger BBQ sauce, and let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken legs and Italian dressing in a large zip-top bag to marinate for at least 4 hours in the refridgerator.

  2. Remove the chicken legs from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels.  Discard the marinade.

  3. Sprinkle the chicken legs with seasoning.

  4. Place the seasoned legs in a slow cooker.

  5. Cook for 2 hours on high or 4 hours on low, rotating every hour.

  6. Pour off any liquid the legs have released and add barbecue sauce to the slow cooker.

  7. To serve, drop the slow cooker temperate to wam and keep the lid off to prevent any condensation from dripping.
